Overview¶
This is the support site for Deflate, a macOS app that frees diskspace using transparant compression.
A disk on a Mac is usually formatted using the APFS or HFS+ filesystem. These filesystems support transparant compression, meaning that macOS will automatically decompress files that use this feature.
No hassle with large ZIP files, from your perspective these files look just like any other files on your Mac. No special instructions or extra steps involved, you work with these files in exactly the same way as you have always done.
For example, the Mac Finder shows your files as if nothing has changed
It is only when you zoom into the details of a file that the magic is revealed
